Red Cotton Wrap Dress

A red fine cotton dress with a wrap-front bodice: a V-neckline formed by two panels crossing at the waist, sleeveless straps, and a wide sash tied into a full bow at one hip. Below the waist the skirt is gathered generously and falls into a soft, rounded shape rather than a stiff A-line.

The wrap bodice does double duty for a parent shopping ahead of an event: the crossover front is naturally forgiving through the middle, so it sits comfortably whether a child is a little smaller or a little taller than average for her size, and the sash ties can be adjusted looser or snugger through the course of a long day. The fine cotton takes creasing better than a synthetic and presses out easily if the dress goes into storage for a younger sibling.
